GDRFA-D conducts over 7,000 legal transactions via its smart platform (Legal Accelerator) in H1 2021

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai revealed that it has successfully completed 7,092 legal transactions via its smart platform ‘Legal Accelerators’ in the first half of 2021. These transactions included legal advice on various services provided by the Directorate and requests for conciliation and reconciliation service for the workers category, in addition to the inquiries received from the judicial authorities. The smart platform, launched in 2016, includes a package of legal services that help accelerate the pace of government development; besides supporting the goals of the Emirate of Dubai and its vision towards smart transformation. The legal advisor of GDRFA Dubai, Brigadier Dr. Ali Ajif Al Zaabi, confirmed that the services provided by the ‘Legal Accelerators’ platform of GDRFA’s Legal Affairs Department have facilitated the way for clients to seek advice and make inquiries remotely anytime and from anywhere. Consequently, it reflects the Directorate’s keenness to keep up with the latest technologies and to adopt them to serve customers better and enhance their satisfaction and happiness. He added that the employees of Legal Affairs Department are qualified and prepared to work in all circumstances including the delivery of services remotely, and this is what led to the success of the remote working experience. This in turn ensured the continuity of work and the safety of all the members of the society in the face of the pandemic. The legal advisor added that the GDRFA Dubai has demonstrated its full preparedness in implementing its plans and directions by enabling its employees to work remotely to ensure their happiness and safety during these unprecedented times. He added that the Directorate has placed the health and safety of its employees at the forefront of its priorities and plans in all circumstances, as it was keen to communicate with them on an ongoing basis, meet their job needs and provide latest training programs to continue the training system based on their individual field of operations. They also aim to develop their capabilities, and increase their practical skills by activating a digital educational platform that guarantees the continuity of the training and rehabilitation of the employees. These efforts have positively reflected on their efficiency, performance and productivity, thus increasing costumers’ confidence in the services provided by GDRFA. Brigadier Dr. Ali Ajif Al Zaabi added that the GDRFA-Dubai has adopted the digital system as the best smart solution for all its administrative operations, which have become today a fundamental pillar for the advancement of the government working system, where all the services are provided 100% electronically. Hence, it contributes to enhance the flexibility and resilience of the directorate with all the changes and conditions, especially under these exceptional circumstances that the whole world is going through during the spread of the pandemic. Lt. Col. Muhammad Kasib Khalifa Al Musafri, Director of the Legal Affairs Department, said that GDRFA is a pioneer in developing smart and new innovative services and projects in all fields in line with the vision of the wise leadership to make Dubai the smartest city in the world. It is also working on implementing a paperless strategy for Dubai, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to build an integrated system for paper-free governmental work by 2021. He added that GDRFA has continued to provide its services with high efficiency remotely without any disruptions, thanks to the UAE’s world-class digital infrastructure.
