GDRFA Dubai showcases smart services, innovations at GITEX

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai is showcasing a package of innovative projects at 41st GITEX Global 2021, which kicked off today at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The innovative projects being showcased at the GDRFA Dubai stand, Sheikh Saeed Hall, include golden visa, smart application, my platform, GDRFA Dubai paperless strategy, citizenship and passports services, “You are special” service, smart website as well as GDRFA Dubai smart services at Expo 2020 Dubai. This is in addition to a series of virtual workshops that will be organized over three consecutive days to benefit the public outside the event. During the global event, which runs until October 21st, the General Directorate will also sign a number of agreements with major companies. To make the event even more interesting, the General Directorate has surprised GITEX visitors by broadcasting Expo 2020 Dubai live through a giant screen placed inside its stand, to give the audience the opportunity to watch this exceptional event, which is hosted by Dubai to connect minds and create the future. His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of GDRFA Dubai said, “The General Directorate takes a great interest in taking part in every edition of GITEX to showcase its latest projects and smart services that were tailored to meet the expectations and ambitions of our wise leadership and to help support ongoing effort to place the UAE among the most advanced countries in the field of advanced technologies and smart techniques.” “This year’s event is different from all other previous editions. It is being held in conjunction with Expo 2020 Dubai, and this will make it much more successful due to the huge volume of participants and the impressive turnout of global experts, decision makers and specialists from around the world,” Al Marri added. “We are delighted to participate in such a special edition along with other government departments to display our latest innovations and services provided to the public. Golden Visa Over the course of the event period, the General Directorate will explain to visitors what is the golden visa, its conditions and how they can get it. It is a long-term residence visa system, extending from five to ten years, and is automatically renewed. It is granted to investors, entrepreneurs, talents, researchers in science and knowledge, and outstanding students as well as those with promising abilities, journalists, doctors and writers. My Platform The GDRFA has introduced a smart digital platform dubbed "My Platform". It is available on its internal website and was tailored to offer its employees a package of smart services to further simplify procedures for the single sign-on through the digital identity, in addition to other support services such as human resources services, correspondence and others. “You are special” service It is a new service launched to manage privileged customers’ accounts at GDRFA by allocating a team (service advisors) and targets in the first stage, giant companies, smart residence owners, (5-4) star hotels and strategic partners. Smart Command & Control Center The Smart Command & Control Center was first set up to support the GDRFA departments, and participates in decision-making by analysing data, and drawing future scenarios, to ensure the efficiency of the directorate operations, link its systems and programs with the smart command and control centre, monitor and address emergency events.
