Dubai residency department on Facebook Lt Sara said that GDRFA's Facebook and Twitter will receive questions or inquiry from public

Dubai: The public can now contact the Dubai General Department for Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) by Facebook or by following it on Twitter, said a Ministry of Interior official. Lieutenant Sara Saeed Al Mutawa, project manger at the IT section at the residency department, said: "We established those social networks recently and we have noticed that the public is interested in it." Lt Sara said that GDRFA's Facebook and Twitter will receive questions or inquiry from public and we are ready to listen to their point of views about our services or any of public complaint. She said this is the first time a government department has such social networks open to the public directly. Response "They can go to discussion and send us any inquiry and if they want us to contact them they can leave their phone numbers and within few hours our staff will call them responding to their questions," she said. She said that the public can also post on the Facebook wall of GDRFA. "We are followers of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Twitter," she said. Lt Sara has an MA in e-services and is working on her doctorate in the same field. "We at the residency department are looking for excellence, quality and to offer best services and accurate information to the public," she said. Lt Sara who has worked at the residency department for the past three years, said she will open pages on Facebook and Twitter to every head of section so the public can directly communicate with them. "I encourage the public to communicate with us through out two social network and we will be happy to listen to all and everything they say," she said. "We are looking for best service and quality in our department and listening to the public will help us in that," she said. Lt Sara said that Dubai is a destination for people from all over the world and they can now get information about the residency department through the Facebook.
