Residency Dept announces new timings

DUBAI — The Residency department has announced flexible working hours schedule during the holy month of Ramadan to ensure convenience 
to people. Major General Mohammad Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department, on Wednesday said the department’s offices would remain open from 8am to 6pm. “However, the Residency department at the Arabian Centre in Mirdiff area shall remain open from 9.30pm till 12 midnight for emergency cases.” Al Marri said the flexible working hours system, which is being adopted for the third straight year, is aimed to making residency services available all the year round. “As per the new schedule, every employee at the Residency department needs to clock five hours in office per day. Rotating shift system shall also be enforced to make our services accessible at suitable times for the public during the holy month,” he said. Meanwhile, the Residency emergency team shall be available round the clock. “The emergency team, presided over by Lt Col Khalifa Balquba, Assistant Director General, is fully geared up to process urgent residency-related issues, particularly during weekends and holidays,” he said.
