GDRFA Holds Strategic Planning Meeting for Upcoming COP28

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA)  in Dubai has organized an expanded meeting to discuss strategies and plans for its participation in the upcoming 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 28) scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 12, 2023.

COP28 is one of the world's foremost international forums dedicated to addressing climate and environmental issues, and it is set to take place at Expo Dubai.

Chaired by HE Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA, the meeting was attended by HE Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director of GDRFA; HE Jamal Zaal bin Krishan Al Muhairi, Vice President for Air Navigation Security and a member of the Higher Committee of COP28; Colonel Essa Ahmed Shaheen, Director of the Passport Control Department at Al Maktoum International Airport; and Major Ali Obaid Al Qassab, Director of the Entry Permits Department; as well as several assistant directors general.

During the meeting, Al Marri emphasized Dubai's prominent status as a leading host for international events and highlighted the city's extensive experience in organizing and successfully executing such occasions. He was provided with insights into the coordination and facilitation mechanisms for issuing visas to conference participants.
