The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has organized a training programme titled "Foresight and Proactive Engagement with the Media" to develop a team of senior leaders well-versed in effectively engaging with the media. Taking part in the programme were 12 GDRFA officers and civilians.

HE Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA, emphasized that media courses play a crucial role in fostering the development of officers' capabilities and skills, adding that these courses are essential tools for understanding effective and institutionalized media engagement.

Al Marri noted that recognizing the participants in this course is indicative of GDRFA’s commitment to investing in the development and skill enhancement of its cadre. This acknowledgment not only shines a light on their achievements but also inspires a commitment to excellence and the pursuit of further success in their respective fields, he added.

The training programme was designed to upgrade the skills of official spokespersons within GDRFA. Participants were empowered with the art of effective communication, media spokesperson skills, insights into media interview protocols, public speaking techniques, and strategies for engaging effectively with the media.

The programme also honed their abilities to convey management messages succinctly and persuasively, imparting training on utilizing language, tone, and choice of words to capture attention.

Moreover, the training programme focused on equipping participants with the tools to respond to inquiries, issue statements, and provide information using clear and articulate language, ensuring the active presence of management across various media platforms.
