 GDRFA Dubai Participates in the Seventh Edition of the Workforce Run in Support of Community Health

The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai), in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, participated in the seventh edition of the Workforce Run, which took place this morning at the Quranic Park. The event witnessed wide participation exceeding 1,000 runners from various entities and companies, as part of a community sports initiative aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles, encouraging physical activity, and reinforcing the importance of the workforce as key partners in the development journey.

The participation was attended by His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai; Colonel Omar Matar Al Mazina, Assistant Director General for the Labour Relations Regulation Sector; and Colonel Ahmed Al Hashemi, Deputy Assistant Director General for the Labour Relations Regulation Sector, along with a number of senior officials and leaders.

This participation reflects GDRFA Dubai’s commitment to supporting community initiatives that contribute to improving quality of life and embody the UAE’s human-centred approach to caring for people and enhancing their wellbeing. It also underscores efforts to expand positive engagement with various segments of society, strengthening values of appreciation and mutual respect within the work environment.

Lieutenant General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai and Chairman of the Labour Committee, affirmed that GDRFA Dubai’s participation in the run reflects its strong sense of social responsibility and its commitment to supporting the physical and mental health of the workforce. He noted that sports initiatives provide an important platform for promoting positivity and a sense of belonging, contributing to the building of a more cohesive and sustainable society.

 

For his part, Colonel Omar Matar Al Mazina, Assistant Director General for the Labour Relations Regulation Sector, explained that participation in such events embodies GDRFA Dubai’s approach to strengthening human connection with the workforce and supporting initiatives focused on health and wellbeing. He emphasized that sport is an effective tool for fostering a balanced work environment rooted in empathy and care, and for reinforcing Dubai’s image as a city that places people at the heart of its development policies.

Through its participation in the Workforce Run, GDRFA Dubai reaffirms that investing in people’s health and wellbeing is an investment in societal sustainability, and that supporting sports and community initiatives reflects its institutional vision based on appreciation, solidarity, and the enhancement of quality of life for all segments of society.
