In line with its institutional approach of field presence and continuous enhancement of operational efficiency, and in support of global leadership objectives in government service excellence, His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai), conducted a series of inspection visits to Dubai International Airport, Hatta Border Crossing, and the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector in Al Awir.
The visits aimed to assess operational readiness, ensure efficiency of performance, and reinforce integration among relevant entities.
His Excellency began the tour at Dubai International Airport, where he reviewed operations across passenger processing halls and assessed the level of operational readiness in managing travel flows. This reflects the system’s ability to handle high volumes in accordance with the highest international standards, while enhancing the passenger experience through fast, seamless, and integrated services.
He then continued to the Passport Control Department at Hatta Border Crossing, where he was received by Brigadier Dr. Rashid Obaid Al Ketbi, Director of the Land Ports Passport Control Department. The visit included a field tour of arrival and departure halls, as well as the external inspection cabins, demonstrating operational flexibility and the smooth flow of travelers across land borders.
His Excellency also held a meeting with representatives of partner entities operating at the crossing, including Hatta Customs Center and the Hatta Border Security Police Section. The meeting reviewed mechanisms of joint coordination, operational workflows, and opportunities to further strengthen institutional integration, ensuring faster procedures, higher efficiency, and an enhanced, unified passenger journey.
During the visit, His Excellency was briefed on key initiatives and practices implemented at Hatta Border Crossing, which contribute to service development and proactive readiness. These efforts align with Dubai Government’s direction toward delivering digital, flexible, and human-centric services, further reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for mobility and travel, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
In this context, the tour also included a visit to the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Building in Al Awir, where H.E. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri was received by Major General Dr. Ali bin Ajif Al Zaabi, Assistant Director General for the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector. During the visit, H.E. reviewed the workflow at the Violators Accommodation Center and the mechanisms for monitoring the status of residency violators, reflecting the system’s efficiency in managing cases within precise legal and regulatory frameworks that support community stability.
He also inspected the operations room and reviewed the digital systems used in case tracking and report management, enhancing response speed and decision-making accuracy, in line with Dubai Government’s vision of leveraging advanced technologies to strengthen institutional performance and operational efficiency.
His Excellency emphasized that the integration of readiness across air and land ports, as well as follow-up sectors, represents a key pillar in supporting security and stability, while enhancing quality of life in Dubai. He noted that investing in operational efficiency and institutional integration directly contributes to strengthening customer trust and reinforcing Dubai’s global competitiveness.
He further added that the continuous development of operational systems across ports and follow-up sectors reflects GDRFA Dubai’s commitment to translating the leadership’s vision into advanced and sustainable services, driven by innovation and proactivity, while maintaining a balanced approach between facilitating procedures and safeguarding community security.
His Excellency commended the efforts of the teams and the strong spirit of collaboration among all entities, noting that the achieved levels of performance reflect the professionalism of the workforce and the effectiveness of institutional integration, supporting the UAE’s vision for global leadership and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading city in quality of life and government services.
