In a humanitarian gesture that reflects the values of giving and compassion, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) organized a humanitarian initiative on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, targeting around 500 residents of the Violators Shelter in Al Awir. The initiative comes as part of its commitment to strengthening humanitarian values and fostering social bonds, and in support of the “Eid in Dubai” campaign, in line with the “Year of Family” objectives, and in light of the current regional circumstances, contributing to strengthening human connection between residents and their families.
The initiative aimed to provide residents with the opportunity to communicate with their families during this special occasion, particularly in light of circumstances that may prevent them from being with their loved ones, or limit direct communication due to the current situation, where calling cards were distributed to enable them to make phone calls to their families.
The initiative also included providing video call services for Muslim residents, allowing them to connect with their families virtually during Eid Al-Fitr, in a step that enhances family closeness despite distance and surrounding circumstances, bringing joy to their hearts, strengthening family ties, and leaving a positive humanitarian impact.
These efforts reflect GDRFA Dubai’s commitment to strengthening the humanitarian dimension across its services, through impactful initiatives that address individuals’ needs and support their psychological and social well-being during special occasions.
Such initiatives fall within a well-established institutional approach that places people at the heart of priorities, reinforces the values of compassion and solidarity, and contributes positively to social cohesion and quality of life.
