On Public Service Day, observed annually on 23 June by the United Nations in recognition of the efforts of government employees in serving people, we recall the vision consistently emphasized by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, that: Serving people and enhancing the quality of community life are fundamental principles deeply embedded in the UAE’s approach.
We also draw inspiration from the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him:
“A government job is a lifetime dedicated to serving people.”
Our wise leadership has taught us that government excellence is not a temporary objective, but a continuous culture that begins with every employee and with their belief that each service they provide reflects the image and values of the UAE before the world. We have also learned from the school of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum that successful governments are those that remain close to people, listen to them, anticipate their expectations, and turn challenges into opportunities for development and innovation.
At the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, we are proud to be part of this national system and to carry the responsibility of providing services that touch the lives of millions of citizens, residents, and visitors, ensuring that every experience reflects the UAE’s values of hospitality, humanity, and excellence.
On this occasion, I extend my sincere appreciation to every male and female employee working in the field of public service, whose dedication and commitment continue to create a positive impact in people’s lives and reinforce the values of public service that distinguish the UAE and strengthen its position as a global model in government work. Serving the nation is an honour, serving people is a responsibility, and what we deliver today with sincerity is what shapes the future of tomorrow.
