His Excellency Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al-Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, said: “The Flag Day initiative is a national occasion we cherish and in which we express our pride and glory for the homeland and our wise leadership. We also affirm our commitment to work to return the favour and renew our determination to continue the process of construction and adherence to the values of the Union which was established by the founding fathers and for which we sacrifice our soles to remain waiving and strong. “The flag day initiative came to reflect the culture of respect for the flag and its sanctity as a symbol of the state's sovereignty and unity. On the third of November of every year, citizens and residents on the United Arab Emirates celebrate this occasion, which coincides with the anniversary of the assumption of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, the reins of government and together we say with one heart “May the safety last and long live the flag of our Emirates.” he added. His Excellency Major General Mohammed Al-Marri affirmed that the Flag Day initiative embodies the feelings of union, community solidarity and national cohesion between the people of the Emirates and their wise leadership, and the feelings of tolerance, peace and brotherhood between them and humanity as a whole, especially in these circumstances that the whole world is witnessing as a result of the (Covid-19) pandemic, as the UAE proves to be the state of humanity and giving by its solidarity with other peoples and provides as well a unique example of unlimited giving and extended its hands to help the needy everywhere no matter their religion, race or colour, as it proved under the wise leadership that it is a proactive country ready to deal with various changes and developments and presented to the world a model to be emulated in how to deal with emergencies and crises efficiently and competently, and the flag of the United Arab Emirates is flying high and waiving , indomitable and unchallenged . The UAE is a country of progress, growth and prosperity and a method for coexistence and tolerance between different sects and nationalities. We pray to Allah Almighty to preserve our state, our flag and our president, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the State and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and their brothers, their Highnesses, members of the Supreme Council of the Union, rulers of the Emirates, and crown princes and their deputies. May the UAE remain a state of security, stability and peace.
