GDRFA Dubai showcases an exceptional experience during GITEX Technology week 2020

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has announced it plans to participate in the 40th edition of GITEX Technology week, which will take place from 6 – 10 December at the Dubai World Trade Center, within its special platform (S1-A1) in Sheikh Saeed Hall. GDRFA Dubai will showcase a range of smart services and projects on its platform. It will grant audiences outside the exhibition a virtual reality experience like never before that enables them to see the most prominent technical and innovative projects. These projects will include the ‘Shabk’ project, which provides a range of digital connectivity services to several government entities. The Dubai Electronic Documents system (DEDS) is a digital encyclopedia of all travel document for different countries, supported by samples of original documents. The ‘Minasaty’ project provides consultation services in digital fields. The Next Generation of ports (NGB) project completes the entry and exit procedure within 10 seconds. In addition to the Golden Visa system and other innovative digital projects and initiatives, which will reveal during the exhibition. Within GITEX Technology Week 2020, GDRFA Dubai will hold a virtual conference entitled “Digital Consultancy Point" over three days from 7 to 9 December, including an elite group of speakers in the GDRFA Dubai and several experts to present the challenges facing various fields. In addition to the experience of GDRFA Dubai during the Covid-19 pandemic. His Excellency Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, stressed the importance of participation in the exhibition on an annual basis, to be part of the changing industry and its orientation towards the prestigious leadership position that the Emirate of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates have reached on the global stage in various sectors. He added this also comes in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to transfer Dubai into the world’s smartest and happiness city, and in line with the UAE Vision 2021 and the National Innovation Strategy. H.E Major General Mohammed Al Marri said that the efforts of GDRFA Dubai to continue the march of government excellence, and its relentless pursuit of creating smart and proactive initiatives and projects, enabled it to reach leadership at the level of government departments and entities in the emirate. The exhibition will be an exceptional opportunity to shed light on the digital transformation process that the emirate of Dubai has witnessed, and the outstanding efforts made by government entities to provide innovative solutions that permanently meet the needs and requirements of the digital age and achieve happiness and well-being for society. From his side, Major Khalid Bin Medeya AlFalasi, Deputy Assistant Director of the Smart Services, said despite the pandemic that we are facing as result of COVID -19, our work in GDRFA Dubai didn’t stop. We continued developing proactive solutions to overcome any challenges to be prepared for the next stage after the pandemic. He added, this year will be different and unique. Visitors outside the exhibition will see our smart projects as they are inside, and they speak directly with the exhibitors to answer their inquiries about the golden residency and other projects displayed.
