GDRFA Dubai signs MoU with Software AG International to boost digital transformation efforts

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai signed a partnership agreement with enterprise software company Software AG International on the sidelines of GITEX technology week 2020. This agreement aims to develop and accelerate GDRFA’s digital transformation and advance its digital infrastructure to keep up with Smart Dubai aspirations to make Dubai a paperless and the smartest city in the world by 2021. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai; and Rami Kashl, Vice President of Software AG International. The agreement will facilitate cooperation and coordination between the two parties to support the Directorate’s digital transformation journey, and to exchange expertise and experiences, through organizing specialized workshops and lectures in a wide range of fields including governance, risk management and compliance. His Excellency Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA in Dubai, said: “We are delighted to enter this partnership, which aims to boost digital innovation, to make Dubai the happiest and the smartest city on Earth.” He added that Software AG’s experiences and expertise in the field of digital transformation will provide exceptional services to our administration, to improve the happiness levels of its clients. Through this partnership, we seek to achieve the future vision of the Emirate of Dubai, to adopt technology and build a digital and paper-free government. Meanwhile, Rami Kashl, Vice President of Software AG International, expressed his pleasure with this cooperation that will contribute to accelerating GDRFA’s digital transformation and to coordinating efforts between the two parties in order to achieve Dubai’s vision of being the smartest city in the world. He added that GDRFA in Dubai is among the first entities that adopted the strategy of digital transformation and started delivering all its services online. That’s why it was able to overcome all the difficulties and seamlessly adapt to all disruptions, such as the Covid-19 crisis.
