GDRFA Dubai honours supplier partners for the year 2020

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai organized the annual ceremony for suppliers for the year 2020 under the theme ‘Together we excel.’ The latest edition of the ceremony was held virtually due to the pandemic situation and the precautionary measures adopted by the UAE and the rest of the world to limit its spread. The virtual ceremony also highlighted GDRFA Dubai’s concern for the safety of its employees and partners. The annual ceremony honoured distinguished suppliers in appreciation of their fruitful cooperation with GDRFA Dubai in developing joint work and building bridges of communication with them. They were recognized for spreading the spirit of competition, raising morale, serving as motivation for others to contribute to its development following the best quality standards in line with Dubai’s strategic plan and help achieve the highest standards of excellence in the services provided by the Directorate. The ceremony began with the presentation of a short film about the suppliers’ journey with the GDRFA Dubai, which was followed by a review of the Directorate’s efforts to enhance the happiness of partners by providing the best facilities to them. The video presentation also highlighted the importance the Directorate attaches to its suppliers in order to make them happy and provide them with advanced facilities, including the launch of an online channel in particular for receiving notes and suggestions 24 hours a day. His Excellency Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, said: “Competitiveness is a way of life in governments and without it, determination recedes, and the enthusiasm disappears,’ quoting His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice president and Prime minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, from his book ‘The Ten Commandments. “We, at GDRFA Dubai, are keen to enhance competitiveness between our supplier partners in accordance with the highest levels of integrity and transparency, believing that cooperation and joint efforts are the basis of progress in promoting the UAE’s strategic interests, achieving sustainable development and excellence in services delivery. We strive to achieve this in a way that contributes to consolidating Dubai's position as a model for fruitful and constructive cooperation, in the best interest of all parties and enhancing the happiness of individuals and that of the society, while establishing an environment that encourages cooperation and joint action.” His Excellency Al Marri affirmed that GDRFA Dubai organizes this ceremony annually to honour its distinguished partners and their fruitful efforts in developing joint work and supporting projects and initiatives that achieve the highest standards of excellence in the services provided by the Directorate. It also contributes to realizing the wise leadership's aspirations for leadership, excellence, innovation and enhancing the UAE’s and the Emirate of Dubai’s positions regionally and globally. He highlighted that the initiative falls within the framework of GDRFA’s commitment to the vision and directives of the wise leadership to achieve institutional excellence and to strengthen the role of partnerships - one of the main drivers of development in Dubai, and to enhance communication with the Directorate’s suppliers from various companies. His Excellency Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri added: “We are looking forward with our strategic partners to build and consolidate solid and long-term cooperation relations to promote Dubai’s and the country’s sustainable development. We look forward to the continuity and prosperity of these partnership, in a way that contributes to achieving the aspirations and ensuring a brighter future for our future generations.” Major General Awad Al Oweim, the Assistant Director General of the Human and Financial Resources department at GDRFA said: “GDRFA is eager to continuously enhance communication with its supplier partners and honour the distinguished ones among them in appreciation of their cooperation with the Directorate. Their continuous support, tireless efforts and great commitment have played an effective role in enhancing the distinction of our efforts. We express our appreciation and gratitude to their great contributions in the achievements of the Directorate and their role in raising efficiency and upgrading the level of work.” Major General Awad Al Oweim added: “Today, we have come together for this honourable ceremony virtually, to highlight the efforts of our distinguished partners and their continuous support for GDRFA Dubai’s success. Our meeting today will further enhance communication and integration between the Directorate and its strategic partners to consolidate the relationship that benefits both parties, which encourages them to further raise performance levels and drive development and excellence. We look forward to continuing our fruitful cooperation with them into the future.” At the end of the virtual ceremony, His Excellency Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri felicitated the distinguished supplier partners, praising their effective roles in supporting the Directorate’s initiatives and contributing to the realization of its aspirations and strategic goals.
