Non-Commissioned Officers: terms and conditions

  1. The applicant must be a citizen of the United Arab Emirates.
  2. The applicant must be of good conduct and sound reputation.
  3. The applicant must hold the academic qualification required under the announcement or the staffing need.
  4. The applicant must meet the age requirements specified for the track.
  5. Minimum height of 165 cm for males and 155 cm for females, with height proportionate to weight, and compliance with the approved physical fitness requirements.
  6. Male applicants must have completed the National Service requirements in accordance with the approved conditions.
  7. The applicant must be medically and physically fit and must pass the prescribed medical examination.
  8. The applicant must pass the prescribed tests, assessments and personal interview.
  9. The applicant must provide any additional requirements or documents specified by the Department according to the nature of the need.
  10. Acceptance is subject to competitive selection and the availability of approved needs and vacancies.

Cadet Officers: terms and conditions

  1. The applicant must be a citizen of the United Arab Emirates.
  2. The applicant must hold a secondary school certificate with a minimum average of 75%.
  3. No more than two years may have elapsed since obtaining the secondary school certificate.
  4. Secondary school certificates issued outside the UAE, or from a foreign curriculum within the UAE, must be equated in accordance with the approved requirements.
  5. A minimum of 70% in the Arabic language subject in the secondary school certificate.
  6. A minimum IELTS Academic score of 5.0 or a minimum TOEFL score of 500.
  7. Age must not be less than 17 years and not more than 21 years.
  8. Minimum height of 165 cm for males and 155 cm for females, with height proportionate to weight.
  9. The applicant must be of good conduct and sound reputation.
  10. Male applicants must have completed the National Service requirements in accordance with the approved conditions.
  11. The applicant must be medically and physically fit and must pass the prescribed medical examination.
  12. The applicant must successfully pass the tests, assessments and personal interview.
  13. The applicant must provide any additional requirements specified by the Department.

  4. The academic qualification must be equated if issued outside the UAE or by an institution requiring equivalency.
  5. The applicant must meet the academic grade point requirement for the track, if any.
  6. The applicant must meet the age requirement specified in the announcement or programme.
  7. The applicant must be of good conduct and sound reputation.
  8. Male applicants must have completed the National Service requirements in accordance with the approved conditions.
  9. The applicant must meet the approved height, weight and physical fitness requirements for the track.
  10. The applicant must be medically and physically fit and must pass the prescribed medical examination.
  11. The applicant must pass the tests, assessments and personal interview.
  12. The applicant must meet any professional or language requirements determined according to the specialisation and the staffing need.
