The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) celebrated Mother’s Day and World Down Syndrome Day with a special event that honoured mothers and children with Down syndrome.

The event was organised in conjunction with the “Who is Like My Mother” initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The GDRFA visited the Emirates Down Syndrome Association, which provides services to children with the condition, and organized activities for 40 children with Down syndrome and 10 heroic mothers who have supported and encouraged their children. The event aimed to celebrate, encourage and support them on their International Day.

The GDRFA said that the event was a gesture of gratitude and appreciation for the mothers who have shown their role and sacrifices in raising children with Down syndrome, and for the children who have overcome their challenges and achieved their goals.
