The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has reported a significant surge in the employment of female postgraduate degree holders as it extends all forms of support and encouragement for female staff looking forward to pursuing further studies.

Currently, the directorate employs 76 women who hold master’s and PhD degrees, showcasing GDRFA’s commitment to women's empowerment and their representation in senior roles.

Commenting on this positive trend, HE Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA, said: “It's a matter of pride to witness the significant progress we've achieved in amplifying female representation at GDRFA. Our mission goes beyond just hiring; it's about creating an ecosystem where women can thrive, contribute to our goals, and climb the leadership ladder."

He added, "Our focus remains clear: we aspire to be a forerunner in promoting both diversity and gender equality. Upholding academic and professional excellence for all, regardless of gender, is at the core of our ethos, aligning perfectly with the vision of our nation's wise leadership."

A glowing testament to GDRFA's commitment to gender diversity is its recent recruitment of 145 young female professionals under the age of 30. This achievement reflects GDRFA's consistent approach to proffering equal opportunities to young talents, male or female, setting them on a path of growth within an esteemed institution recognised on both the local and international stage.

With a global shift towards gender equity in leadership and management, GDRFA too is walking the talk. As per the latest statistics, women now occupy 11.39% of leadership roles within the directorate. This, coupled with the fact that women make up 35.43% of the supervisory roles in management, showcases the directorate's drive to enable women to be at the forefront of decision-making and strategic operations.

Such positions not only validate women's expertise and skills but also set the stage for these experienced leaders to mentor and inspire the next generation of female employees, ensuring a dynamic and diverse workforce for years to come.
