GDRFA discusses cooperation with Dubai Customs in the field of customer service

His Excellency Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, welcomed His Excellency Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs; and his accompanying delegation in the presence of Major General Awad Al Awaim, Assistant Director General for the Human and Financial Resources Sector; and Brigadier General Dr. Ali Ajeef, the legal advisor for GDRFA; Brigadier General Khalaf Al Ghaith, Assistant General Manager the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector; and Brigadier Dr. Ali Al Shamsi, Assistant General of the Entry and Residence Permits Sector. His Excellency Al Marri gave the Director General of Dubai Customs, and his accompanying delegation a tour of GDRFA office to show the facilities provided to customers and the smart services available to all segments of society. The speed of service delivery, the efficiency of the services provided and the extent of Dubai’s keenness to make its customers happy were also focused on. This is achieved through the simplification of procedures for all customers, whether visitors, residents or citizens, to achieve the UAE’s vision of becoming the best in the world in providing services to customers. The Dubai Customs delegation was also briefed on the work applications and mechanisms and what GDRFA is achieving in terms of its excellent performance and services to its internal and external customers. The visit was aimed at strengthening relations with the Department's strategic partners, exchanging accumulated experiences in the field of customer service, as well as strengthening the means of cooperation between the two sides, through integration of performances among all institutions and government departments in the Emirate of Dubai. These efforts are important in supporting the overall system of government performance. His Excellency Al Marri highlighted GDRFA Dubai’s keenness to consolidate the culture of partnership and enhance cooperation between various government agencies and exchange experiences through unifying and integrating efforts in order to achieve the wise leadership’s strategy to enhance happiness, well-being and quality of life in society. The integration of roles of government agencies enhances the position of the emirate and its competitiveness in international forums and the consolidation of its position globally. He emphasized that our goal is to work together in order to integrate roles according to an institutional framework that is in line with the goals and strategies to build Dubai’s future and achieve the goals of the national agenda for the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Centennial Plan 2071. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih praised the sustainable cooperation between Dubai Customs and GDRFA, and the extent of the two parties’ keenness to achieve the Dubai Plan 2021, and prepare for the next 50 years in line with the government plans and initiatives that enhance the UAE’s sustainability for the coming years. He said that a number community projects have been implemented in cooperation with GDRFA, including mass weddings, which continued to be organized for six years. This emphasizes the strategy of the Dubai government in supporting the principle of community partnership and contributes to the creation of equal opportunities for all male and female employees. The Director General of Dubai Customs appreciated the efforts of GDRFA employees in all sectors and their commitment to providing simplified and fast services to the public at all times, including crises and emergency situations, and the integration of technology in the delivery of services.
