Impressive results for GDRFA- Dubai teams participating in Ramadan sports events

Dubai Residency teams participating in Ramadan sports events have achieved remarkable results. The team from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai, competing in wheelchair basketball at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, secured second place in the championship final. They reached the finals after topping their group with a perfect score (8 out of 8), defeating the Roads and Transport Authority team 33-28. 

 

Their success in reaching the semifinals showcased their determination to advance to the event's final, maintaining an unbeaten streak throughout their participation. The tournament featured 10 teams in Group A, including teams from various government entities. Additionally, in the Nad Al Sheba 400-meter obstacle course race (OCR), Corporal Abdullah Ahmed Yousef from Dubai Residency won second place among approximately 500 participants from around the world.

 

Furthermore, in the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Ramadan Football Championship, Dubai Residency's team clinched first place after defeating the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - Fujairah team 2-1 in the final match held at the authority's headquarters in Abu Dhabi. With three wins and one loss in the championship, Dubai Residency topped the standings, demonstrating their dominance among the participating teams representing various residency and foreigners affairs departments in the country.

 

Scoring both goals for Dubai Residency in the final match was player Issa Waleed Obeid, who was awarded the tournament's Best Player accolade. This victory adds to Dubai Residency's achievements in Ramadan sports events held nationwide and within Dubai, underscoring their commitment to excel in various Ramadan activities. Dubai Residency has consistently demonstrated outstanding performance in such events, reinforcing its efforts to support various community, charitable, and religious activities during the holy month of Ramadan. These efforts align with Dubai's strategic goals aimed at achieving the happiness of employees and stakeholders and enhancing the quality of life in line with the emirate's vision for well-being and happiness for all members of society.
